Just wondering here how many people listen to Marty Gold's program on KICK-FM (92.9).

No he his just another form of shock jock from what I have heard but will have to try to really hear him . Rarely have the radio on coming home from work, as I hear music all day nice to have peace in the car.

I listen to his show most every day for maybe 30 minutes while I drive home... He rambles a bit. Well, a lot. Is uber obsessed with the main stream media and how it does not do its job. He focuses on certain stories maybe too long... Last week it was the vigilantes.

The previous few weeks was the Bruce Owen/Free Press/Porkgate/Jim Cotton story. One day in the middle of all that he spotlighted the sandbox and in particular one member. That was entertaining.

I would listen to him, but I'm usually on the bus when he's on the air. I'd either have to buy an FM radio or an FM receiver for my iPod in order to tune in.

I suppose there's always the option of downloading the archived shows, but that'd take forever on a dialup connection...

Yup. Got rid of my hi-speed internet and went back to dialup, as an incentive to spend less time pissing around on the net and more time on other things. Cool

It's like driving for twelve hours on a relatively empty highway, then driving into the city, right in the middle of rush hour gridlock. In terms of internet speed, anyway.

Actually, it's going quite well, I've been able to focus my attention on, shall we say, more worthwhile causes such as housework and renovations.

i like his show.. some times he pisses me off with needless fear mongering.. i.e. the water treatment plant..

but for the most i really do enjoy the topics that he brings up.. and the constant slamming of the NDP and the Freep. However lately his ranting about the Israel/Gaza thing has had me listening to power 97 more often on my drive home. The reason being, i really just don't care about the whole situation.

Sad to say it has become cool for people to write in blogs as a means to say what they would never say in public. Or put there picture to .

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Suppose somebody has to maintain a certain public image, but has all this edgy material stored up in his/her mind. They could let it out on a blog for entertainment & discussion without compromising their public integrity.

There's something to be said about anonymity. It does allow a person to speak their mind without being outed, so to speak.

It is unfortunate that people have to hide behind a blog to speak their mind and not be persecuted or prosecuted for it.

It also encourages people to not research properly what they write, or say as no one knows for sure who they are .
