Heh...cargo pilots think they own the strips eh....

My assumption...it was an intentional hit.
I believe FlyingRat is a pilot right? he could confirm this.
But you don't just "hit" someone in the sky. The slightest bump could knock a plane out...and if you're coming in behind someone...you KNOW they are there.
Unless the sky was completely overcast with 0 visibility...they knew what they were doing. If the sky was that overcast...they would be flying IFR anyway and known the plane was there too.
Nobody would admit to it (as they'd lose their license), but it's probably akin to two drivers at a red light. You recognize the driver in front of you as your buddy, so you pull up till you "rub bumpers" just to get his attention. I've done it...maybe you have. No damage...just a little "tap" to say hello.

Ages, that just doesn't happen. No way that bump was intentional.
All we know at this point is it was a clear day. The aircraft were the same type.
This is purely speculation, but I would guess the two aircraft were on converging headings lining up for the same runway. We'll have to wait and see if the pilots were communicating properly.

I thought about that last night...and realized it could have been that.
I haven't seen the actual story, or photos...but it's conceivable one was coming in from above the other one and his nose-wheel tapped the tail.
It was always my biggest fear coming into the airport I was learning in...coming in and you're basically "blind" as to what's underneath you...that an animal or something would dart out across the runway and I wouldn't be able to see them in time.

There was minor damage to the right wing of the Innu Mikun plane but none on the cargo flight,
