I was sent this via e-mail...anyone know where this might be?

Canadian Speed Controls
Speed controls being used in Canada ... How's this for effective speed control?
Traffic Control Canadi10

I don't know about you, but this would certainly slow me down!
Drivers slow down and actually try to "straddle" the hole.

Traffic Control Canadi11

This is an actual speed control device that is currently in use.
It is MUCH cheaper than speed cameras, radar guns, police officers, etc.

Traffic Control Canadi12

Pretty clever, especially when they move them around every day.
Isn't art wonderful?

Of course...in Winnipeg, we don't need this...our streets look like that anyway Wink.

vancouver has been using the 3D images for about a year. Not sure if this is one of theirs or not.

I wonder how many accidents are caused by peeps suddenly swerving to avoid the "pot holes".

It is not speed control. It is advertising.
A growing trend in advertising is thinking outside the box.
Painting buildings, elevators, escalators, floors, sidewalks, streets, etc. with creative items that get you to look.

The pot hole ads are for Pioneer Suspension

Though they are ads, they sure would work at slowing your a$$ down.

Google Creative Street Ads to see some other wicked cool ads.

My thoughts too.

But, in any event, we have a hard time getting the lines painted here, so doing things like this would be an insult to taxpayers imo.

Thank you for combating the "I saw it on the Intarwebs, it must be true!" attitude. Some details on the ad campaign, along with photos that aren't pixelated all to hell.

i didn't see it on the interweb Smile

Got an e-mail from a friend (in the US)...I just copied & pasted Wink.

I presumed it was advertising from the "Pioneer Suspension" wording...but honestly had never seen it in place anywhere. Couldn't tell from the photos where it was either as it was too blurry.
