Sandbox lives, sort of
Put down the shovels. The Sandbox isn’t buried just yet.
Sandbox magazine, the two-year-old local
fashion/lifestyle/culture quarterly that ceased publication with this
month’s issue, will live on thanks to a new partnership with Winnipeg’s
Downtown BIZ. Under the agreement, Sandbox’s staff will take
over the fashion section of the spring/summer issue of the BIZ’s
Downtown Winnipeg magazine, which will be distributed free throughout
the city in May.
"We’re simply looking for new ways the explore the spirit and substance that defined the magazine," Sandbox editor in chief Jeffrey Vallis said in a released statement. "And with the BIZ, we have an exciting opportunity to do that."
Sandbox’s final stand-alone issue is currently on sale at McNally Robinson Booksellers.
