That kid probably was happy that he got caught! He was complaining about being bullied!
I thought that schools were more aware of the dangers of bullying? I am sure that I have seen advertisements on TV about kids being bullied and the ad was telling those kids to make sure they complained!
Same thing in the U.S. with Bush and Cheney bullying Iraq, Afghanistan, and anyone else who has a dark complexion!

My first thought was the kid wanted to get caught as well.

Otherwise, why would he have posted his threat online?

Kudos for the Winnipeg kid taking action...but had the UK kid really wanted to burn the place...he would've just done it....no real planning...and certainly not announcing it to the world.

my second thought was.... how exactly is it normal that someone carry gas to school and no one notices until someone from Canada calls them and says... look out!

why would he post it online if he didnt want to be caught? simple, many people are perfectly comfortable in their anonymity on the internet and can say pretty much anything. The chances of someone seeing it and actually acting on it such as our winnipeg man did are incredibly low.

Since when does bullying become an excuse for this , I got beat up at school never wanted to burn the school down just beat the kid who did it to me . Maybe parents should become better parents to deal with their childs problem and not expect someone else to do it .

Ie the school he just took the gas can to school for a science project, no one asked way he took it from the garage .

Or could it be no one to see him her do it .

IMO, lashing out at others in general has become more common in our society. From angry outbursts at store clerks on upward. It's not surprising that young people will sometimes take it to extremes.

If we're going to end the ongoing school violence, we need to change our society. We have a culture that rewards aggression, that rewards "winning" over others. We have a culture where people feel entitled to their rage and their expression of it. Maybe we're less "buttoned-up" than in the past, but there have been some bad things that came along with the good.

school violence is not anything new its been happening since there were schools around I would be willing to bet.

Yes true but the violence is worse and more common though.

Is it really? Or is it just being reported instantly by world media now?

That would sure account for the copycat stuff....a vicious cycle kinda' thing.

exactly... most of these kids are doing it now simply because they saw how "big" the other kids who did it got.
