Police investigate website posting of alleged beating of suspected car thie

I would like to hear both sides even though no one will believe his . This is going to lead down a slippery slope till some one , the wrong one is killed and then people what.

It seems the woman did not have time to get into the house. Apparantly she was completely terrified and standing outside her car while the scumbag banged his fists on the car windows while the child was still in the car.

I think a mob beating was in fact in order. I want every scumbag out there to think that were he caught while in the act of being a scumbag he might face the wrath of non-scumbags everywhere.

And were one to die while in the process... Stuff happens. Scumbags take innocent lives all the time. Maybe they need to be put on notice that they risk forfeiture of their life while putting innocent lives in danger.

Just sayin'.

True to form the Chiefs are demanding that further action be taken.
Here is what I'm hearing: "We don't care that dude was acting like a
typical scumbag. We don't care that dude violated personal property
while terrifying a woman and infant child. Dammit they beat him up. AND
they uttered a racial slur. We want justice."

And this Nahanni Fontaine dudette is earning her keep eh. Shall I post
a few links for her benefit where some truly contemptible racist
comments made by "her people" were posted on the internet. Now granted
there was no press conference on it giving her a platform to dress down
her people and make them accountable.

The leaders are also threatening to launch a human rights complaint,
which focuses on the racial slurs that were posted on

accountability when you're inciting hate and racism against our
people," aboriginal activist Nahanni Fontaine told CTV News.

Meanwhile, police said they are responding to the allegations of racism.

"Those allegations will be thoroughly and completely investigated
(and) we will be able to respond when that investigation is complete,"
said Jacqueline Chaput of the Winnipeg Police Service.

Sel Burrows, a Winnipeg activist who works in the city's roughest
neighbourhood, said that the alleged vigilante attack was cowardly and
un-Canadian.

"It reminds me of what's on American TV all the time, this macho stuff," said Burrows.

What is truly cowardly and un-Canadian are the scumbags that terrorize innocent peeps. Burrows need to give his pathetic head a shake.

Maybe if we all start fighting back the scumbags of the world will think twice. If it was legal I'd carry a handgun!

A friend of mine went to Portage Place yesterday to do some shopping...I asked her how was it? She replied, okay except for the fact we had to hold onto our purses for dear life! She said she was nervous as all hell and that the mall was jam packed with scumbags, gangs and drug dealers. I think next time she'll head to Polo or St Vital Centre.

I think I've had a change of heart on this... on the guys post... he pretty much states that they took their boots to this guys head... which is taking things too far... and he insinuates that what they did was in fact illegal and that they did know it was illegal...

The fact that they knew it was illegal and they seem to want to cover it up sickens me... The fact that they were found to be bragging about the act after the incident tells me these people need to be charged with a crime as a deterrence...

And GC... I've never said that the child being out was an issue... it just seems that whenever a child is out late it seems to be brought up as an issue... Personally, I have no issue with that other than it's probably not a good idea to have a child out on New Year's Eve with all the drunks driving....

I guess it isn't a good idea to have a child out at anytime right?...as long as the parent who was driving isn't drunk then that's all that matters. Drunks are out on the roads all the time whether it's New Years Eve or not. I can get smoked by a drunk driver anytime of the day or night as unfortunate as that is.

Apparently the dude who posted the racist comment wasn't even witness to this incident Ignorance is all around us and I would hate to see this issue being called a hate crime when it doesn't seem to be. What this seems to be is a would be thief being caught red handed, yes they went overboard on the beating but sometimes "street justice" is all some can understand. I wonder if this would be called a hate crime if the thief was white and those who did the beating were native? Somehow I don't think so.

Yes I know the husband posted the pics but what I heard on the news was that the person who posted the racial slur wasn't at the party. What is the racial slur exactly? The use of Indian, dirty or thief?

"dirty Indian" I suspect. I'd also heard the comment was posted by an uninvolved party. Trouble is there are so many story's floating around that it is hard to figure out who said what. BUT... I believe that the hubby posted the pic's. I believe the wife when she said her hubby is not racist. That means...

Erm... I would also believe that it was not this dudes intention to incite the other racist comments in the thread and is probably not normally racist himself...

That is probably true. Are you saying the thread included the "dirty Indian" slur?

Since I haven't seen this thread I have no idea who said what. I think the remark is racist but I would NOT call this a hate crime like a native spokesperson for Southern Chiefs did.

When I was younger, a couple of friends and I went to a party. My one friend was a blonde and she was talking to a native guy well his native girlfriend and her friends attacked my friend and beat her to a pulp calling her a dirty white bitch, white slut etc etc. Is that considered racist? Too bad the internet wasn't around back then. To me words are words...personally I am pretty sick and tired of all this politically correct bull. I highly doubt these guys were out to kick the *hit out of a native.

I think it would be considered a hate crime if these guys went driving around randomly looking for a native person to kick the snot out of, however that's not what happened at all. They caught a thief breaking into their property and administered an adreniline fueled beating. There's a reason it's called a "fight or flight" instinct, these guys chose fight. Personally, I agree with Goth-chic....people of all races say some stupid racist things all the time especially out of anger and rage ie. "dirty white bitch". How is that any less racist is beyond me?

H*ck, I'd beat the shite out of a burglar if caught in my house... He'd take a beating for all the previous damages... Then I'd throw him out onto the street, hoping a garbage truck would come passing by to give him the final blow...

Remember....people have selected hearing and only hear what they want. I'm sure some think I'm a racist...I'm not racist I hate everyone equally.

The only part of this story that bothers me is the fact that , no one has posted his story as the word of drunks tends to be wrong 75 percent of the time .
I hope we don't condone this as it means we have started down a long slippery slope . Where you staggering along trying to get into your car while drunk find out it is not your car , and get a beating for your trouble . Just suffice it to say this could or can be the case. Think About it before you condemn and beat the person , especially while drunk

If you're stumbling around drunk and trying to get into your car to drive, you deserve a beating.

Even when you listen to Chaput on the TV news she is stating that you can defend yourself and property but to also call the police if you see a crime being committed. So I guess what the folks who beat up this person can claim is they were "defending themselves and their property" and in this case as well a spouse and child.

yeah but unfortunately... You can only defend yourself as long as there is a reasonable assumption that the attack will continue
. ie once the guy is down you and your friends can not be laying the boots to him...

...at that point you turn the camera off.
