I did not watch the whole thing, but McFadyen looked far more intense than I'd seen before. He came across quite well. The Green guy almost looked to be McFadyen's set up guy. Gerrard mostly targeted selinger but looked clumsy when targeting McFadyen. sellinger looked tired.

I saw a good chunk of this and I gotta say I haven't seen McFadyen look so strong in quite some time.

I caught 5 minutes, and I think that the Conservative guy definitely has the nicest fitting suite, just as the NDP ad points out!

Dr. Jerrard doesn't speak very well.

Why would there be a Liberal and a Green invited when they get so few votes? What is the rationale in having them take up an equal amount of time, when they get probably 5% of the vote?

I may have missed the promise.
But have any of the leaders made any promises or even comments about re-directing dollars from the regional health authorities to front-line services in health care?

The vote isn't done yet. Maybe Manitobans will finally wake up to the fact that NDP and PC have nothing to offer but the same old lies and will vote for a true alternative. Has happened before elsewhere - more than once.

Given that we're now only 9 days off - I will take this opportunity to re-state my prediction. I will add however that I believe the Green Party will play stronger than expected in two constituencies but fall short to NDP. That means the math is the same.

There are 57 seats

PC - 29

NDP - 24

Liberal - 4

I have no idea how things will turn out. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised like the past Federal election.

However, I don't think the Liberals will be shut out...

Yup. Is this the sort of change you're looking for?

That is just empty politican blurb. The liberals have a much more specific answer:

Manitoba Liberals would legislate a sixth principle; our health care system must also be accountable. Liberals would end global budgets for Regional Health Authorities and focus resources and efforts where they are needed—on the front lines.

...just fyi....just to be a little more specific...

McFadyen Commitments:
As part of our commitment to ensuring that more families have access to primary health care, a
McFadyen government will grow Manitoba’s nursing workforce by hiring a minimum of 1,700 nurses
over the next six years.

Nurse practitioners are a unique and valuable asset to front line health care, but are currently not used to
their full potential in Manitoba. A McFadyen government will utilize nurse practitioners more effectively in
hospitals, personal care homes and in primary health care facilities and will hire an additional 75 nurse
practitioners over the next six years to ensure that Manitobans have access to health care when they need
it.

A McFadyen government will expand nursing education capacity by at least 5% over the next six years to
meet the growing demand for nurses.

A McFadyen government will introduce a program that will make it easier for nurses to become nurse
practitioners. Modeled after a program in Ontario, we would provide nurses with the opportunity to
maintain their salary while they study to become nurse practitioners. In exchange, the new nurse
practitioner would agree to a return-of-service commitment to a Manitoba community in high need.

A McFadyen government will establish regular opportunities for nurses to have open communication with
the Premier and Minister of Health regarding important decisions that impact the health care system.

A McFadyen government will address staff safety and security in health care facilities and will work with
the Manitoba Nurses Union to continue to develop a violence-free workplace strategy, which would create
a permanent and ongoing process for reviewing workplace security issues throughout the province.

A McFadyen government will expand “Releasing Time to Care” to reduce the paperwork burden and
give nurses more time with patients. The program is intended to free up nurses’ time on wards in order
to provide more direct patient care and improve workload. It helps clinical teams identify where they are
spending time on activities that do not add value for patients — such as duplicate charting, looking for
supplies or equipment, searching for information, and dealing with numerous interruptions. The program
provides guidance on how to test and implement changes to improve patient safety, staff well-being,

patients’ experience, and efficiency of care.

Anything about addressing the RHA issues and bloat, or just more and more spending?

BORING by design

One of the commentators mentioned seeing fewer lawn signs. I'm noticing fewer, as well. And I'm in Hugh's area. Should be tons of Tory signs. Not as much as last time, IIRC.
