The notion the Stanley Cup final was fixed is absolutely absurd. Even Americans aren't so anal as to fix it so another American based team can win for the what 17th straight year?
For Christs sake 75% of that country doesn't give a sh1t about hockey much less need to fix the outcome.

That is probably a very fair comparison. Anyone who thinks that there is anything left to chance in this multi-billion enterprise is a fool. This is about profits first, entertainment second, and competition does not factor in at a high level. The owners all collaborate on the NHL board, and they have multivariate computermodels that figure out who needs to win or lose which game to maximize profits for the league. Trading of players and sending players who do not follow owner's orders to the farm teams are a symptom of this.

Sorry. Still not buying it. NO way you could get complete buy in from the entire team. These guys are damn proud athletes. You couldn't get an ENTIRE team to throw games in a FINAL just for a few million more. Especially not one with as crappy a powerplay as Boston has. Especially not the underdogs, which Boston also were.

The only doubts you can have about the NHL would be why does Ovechkin and most other European players ditch out of the playoffs so easily? Is it maybe so they can participate in the phony world championships??? The Stanley Cup IS the real "world" championship. All the rest is just minor hockey at it's worst. Besides, there's usually just a bunch of Leafs players on the various teams anyways...
