Are they allowing you to buy unlimited? Or just the same number you already have?

So it looks Like I will probably be owing USApegger and Mantha lunch IF they limit the number of season tickets to the 13K.

What did they say? June 21st is the NHL board meeting day? If so..June 22nd for the lunch?

Did anyone catch the news conference?
Did they have a comparison of the ticket prices compared to other Canadian NHL cities?
Especially the "more-reasonably priced" ie: cheaper tickets?

Thanks

The cheap seat prices are based on a person buying season tickets and committing for a minimum of 3 years. I am curious to see what the % rate will be for single game tickets. They will not be $39.00 per single game, I would bet they will be more like $45.00 or $50.00 for single games. Not like I will be buying tickets anyway but I am still curious to see if the TRS&E will gouge the people of Winnipeg.

Probably. This is not the Jets of 1996 anymore.

I've always maintained that there is a perception of value in anything you buy. If you don't pay for your house, no matter its' cost, chances are you won't keep it in great condition. But buy that same house for $100k and you will take care of it.

Too many tickets were $7 in the first go-round. Combined with a relative lack of success and you had a recipe for disaster. And that inevitably proved out.

Why is $45 to $50 considered gouging for single game tickets?

The quotd prices are lower than Edmonton or Calgary, and our # of seats to sell is about 3,000 less per game.
I wonder how that will be for not losing money for the team? I sure hope that Wpg cheapskates are able to afford this!
$1600 per seat for the nose bleed seating! How good are those seats as compared to the old arena ones? My feet couldn't fit in those old seats and I always bought tickets on an aisle, so my fet could stick out and trip everyone ! lol

My financial position, being a very poor retired person, woukd never ever allow me to buy a single good seat for $175.

That's about the daily take home earnings of the average wage earner. So put in a good day of work and blow it on a cheap seat at the game ... makes sense.

In 1996 the Jets salary was about $16,000,000 and the owners were forcasting an increase to $30 million, and that was in U.S. dollars at a 25% premium.
The owners had zero income from food and beverages and a 50 year old rink.
Big changes and really good luck in managing.
It is great to have the NHL back, as we deserve it, and the great hockey that it will bring back to Wpg.
I vaguely remember going to see the playoff games between Wpg and Edmonton. That was incredible hockey!

Whaa-whaa-fricken-whaa...

You can't afford it so you sh1t on it? Talk about sour-fricken-grapes.

I'll never understand the sense of entitlement some people have.

Some people will find every reason to b1tch about everything. Not sure how that makes them feel better about themselves. They need to suck it up buttercup, life is not fair.

Hey I can't afford a $500k house. They should stop building them if we all can't afford to buy one.

"
One of Winnipeg's most cherished culinary institutions could become a
casualty of a plan to redevelop an entire block of downtown Winnipeg on
the north side of Portage Avenue.

But the movers and shakers behind a plan to revitalize downtown are
vowing to carve out a new home for the Wagon Wheel Lunch -- should one
be required."

Why not? Those institutions are what make up the character of a neighbourhood.

Even though Winnipeg season tickets are comparable to Edmonton, Calgary and Ottawa, remember the MTS Centre will have much fewer low end tickets. Those tickets are sacrificed with a 15,000 seat arena.
