"Pro-choice groups warn against Harper majority"

sure.. technically its just them "reporting" what someone else is claiming when they put this there.

"In a vote last fall on whether to make it illegal to coerce a woman into
having an abortion, several Liberal MPs voted in favour. Conservative
cabinet ministers all voted against the bill."

Unbelievable that the CBC would not do even the remotest bit of fact checking and see that
1) the bill being referenced ( c-510) was put forward by a conservative member.
2) every single BLOQ and NDP voted against.
3) only 10 Liberals voted for.
4) 87 Conservatives voted for ( with a smaller number voting against)

unbelievable as well that a prochoice group would be babbling that crap without fact checking.

I think that the CBC should be held to task for publishing that crap as "news"

There appears to be a double standard for some peeps when it comes to the cbc and their very obvious liberal bias.

I read this recently: "But I really don't see the CBC as holding some sort of anti-Con bias. If anything, I think they're more balanced than the other networks are - which suits the public broadcaster."

Some people actually BELIEVE that claptrap. And they say it in public!

Time to shut down the cbc and its suckling on the taxpayer teats...

I'd love to see two things (for a starter) dumped...the gun registry and the CBC. Hope it will happen soon.

We need to give the CBC another $1 Billion, so they don't have to sell any advertising, and become funded like the BBC.
Everyone knows the BBC to be the finest, most accurate reporting available, 2nd only to Al Jazeebra and Fox news!

I believe we need a CBC, but not one nearly as heavily funded.

Its more then a little ridiculous when they send 3+ camera crews to one event

1) English TV camera crew
2) French TV camera crew
3) Internet Camera crew
4) French radio crew
5) English radio crew

+++???

Plus they should be prevented from representing a "position" on events and such. Simple reporting of facts. If people want opinion they can go to whichever other place.

under 100 million per year to ensure that 100% CANADIAN programming and content is available.

This would also include NOT HAVING major motion pictures displayed (in French or English) unless they are Canadian. It really tics me off to see virtual new releases showing on the French channel and being translated and its another 3 years before they show up on English Channels.

I love this comment on that site, cant believe the CBC allowed it though.

"You
would think an honest and nonbiased entity like the CBC would point
that out and call the group to task on the misinformation"

Maybe they dont understand sarcasm?
