also.. what the hell is a recreation commission and apparently we have 52 of them?

AND.. just how can a principal or a superintendent ignore a survey from the provinces education minister without being fired?

Thank God that the NDP are going to do something to address a problem that has plagued community groups for years. I'm especially pleased that the Minister promises to have it fixed by September, just a mere month prior to the election.

heh.. you mean when the article even says they have been trying for YEARS to get this resolved?

WSD1 ever implement that online program they said they were going to?

Same issues as alwasy with WSD1. Small groups using large gyms, lack of advance notice of schedules and cancellations.

#3 son runs a soccer camp for younger kids (8 and under) for a local cc at one of the school gyms on Saturday am and it was shut down for the past 2 weekends due to the spring break. No access to any school gyms anywhere, when all the kids are out of school. How does that make sense to anyone?

School officials comment that there is a lack of space for their own use and the use of community groups, however, WSD1 rents out gym time to "for profit" organizations.

Nice to see that Seven Jokes couldn't even be bothered to answer. Espcially ironic because of their close ties to the NDP.

ridiculous that at one time people actually believed that schools and CCs could work together and share the space properly.

OH RIGHT! thats not ridiculous there is only one taxpayer and that totally makes sense. Too bad certain bureaucrats and "organized groups of people" who get in the way and make it far more complicated then it needs to be.
