I am sure many of us have seen the video where the bullied boy snaps and throws the little kid to the ground.

some people's reaction is that he went to far that the "big" kid should not have done what he did.

I say bullshit. that little bastard got what he deserved.
I applaud this bullied kid. We need more people like him.

imagine how great our world would be if people stood up for themselves.

Here is an interview with the bullied boy..

If you can see the video a bit longer than is usually shown, another big guy comes into play ....

...and a girl confronts him and he backs down!!!!

That's the best part.

I love this kid. Good for him for standing up.

I was bullied in school too. When I finally stood up to it, it felt great.

I too was bullied because I was the "new" kid a number of times. And I was very very small for my age.

I was only ever bullied ONCE in every school tho.

One kid still has a permanent scar to this day that embarrasses him so bad that he refuses to take off his shirt in public.

Sweet!

Heh. My favourite fight-back was grade 12. After getting shellacked on the scoreboard in a noon hour floor hockey game, one perennial flunker about 3 years my senior who loved to pick on me threw me up against the wall in front of all my friends and said "See you guys next year!".

I just got back up and said "Well, (insert name here), you'll still be here".

hehehe. My mouth gets me in to trouble. A lot.

He went at me with a flurry of fists. After getting me in a headlock and resorting to pulling my hair, I'd had it. I got a good right fist in on his crotch, and then pulled myself out from under him after he collapsed on top of me in a shivering whimpering pile on the floor.

Instant standing ovation. Not sure if people clapped because he was put in his place or because I ensured he'd never have offspring.

Casey is a smart and articulate young man. Good for him for standing up to the little puke.

Bollocks to the school for the zero tolerance rule. Casey simply had no choice. Three years of this BS = tolerance. He could no longer ignore it nor walk away.

I got mad at my wife. On this one. Perhaps madder then I needed to get, but she figured there is no way that Casey should have reacted like that. She was quite mad about the way he reacted and felt for the younger kid.

I wonder if this is a case of ... people who have been picked on get it... people who have not, don't?

^^That is what it is. Those who know, say yay. Those who don't say nay.

There are too many in our society that feel more compassionately for the bullies in our world.

Are they the same as the bleeding hearts that feel jail sentences are not required?

Would your wife have felt the same way were the bully the big kid?

As for me I don't remember ever being bullied but I've always rooted for the underdog. Bullies, even cyber-bullies, are true cowards at heart and deserve a firm comeuppance.

Stupid asses at the school. Watch the video and figure out who the instigator was. Little sh1t started it, Casey finished. Sounds like a good deal all around.

Especially neat to see the little sh1t gimping around after Casey dropped him. Should be a lesson not soon forgotten.

I almost, almost feel for the kid. For all the punches he threw, HE has now been humiliated worldwide. It must be quite the fall to be punching a kid one day, and waking up the next with a limp and being vilified by nearly EVERYONE.

I can't imagine what that type of karma feels like! Smile

There were plenty of witnesses around. Did anyone else see Casey provoke the incident?

Note the kid said "sorry for bullying him" and "I shouldn't have picked on him" does not sound like the words of someone retaliating.

The kid's father also said, more than once, that "he's no angel". I suspect the punk has been in trouble many times.

this is how it happened. I can damn near guarantee it based on being a kid, having kids and coaching many young asshats. The aggressor never remembers their initial act that causes the bullied to say or do something that sets them off.

Casey is walking along.
Richard and friends walk by
Richard (or more likely friend) tells casey get to class fattie
Casey responds. You get to class idiots.
Richards says to friends.. I should kick his a$$.
Friends say. LOL, yeah but you are a wimp and no way you will
Richard say.. stuff it I will too.
Friend says.. do it then, here I will video it on my phone.

Richard goes at it.

I like how the mom says... I was shocked to learn it was my kid, but hopefully the bugger learned a lesson from this. ( or something like that)

Awesome story. Too bad it can't be shown as an inspirational message at some of the schools here in Winnipeg so that the kids here can see that this is what might happen to you if you push too far. I had 2 of my 3 kids who were bullied while in school, my son for being really small and scrawny when he was in elementary. He finally did exactly what Casey did and beat the crap out of the older kid who was bullying him, my son was in grade 4 and the other kid in grade 6. No one ever bullied my son again after the beating he laid on this older kid. My youngest daughter who is under 5 feet tall and a bit over weight because of a medical condition, was also teased because of her shortness. She never let it really bother her and she finally did get fed up of one of the girls who was persistently teasing and laid into her verbally as opposed to physically and my older daughter always stood up for her sister whenever possible. I don't condone fighting in any way but if a child needs to stand up for him or herself physically, fine.

I moved around quite a bit growing up...went to 3 different schools in Grade 9 alone.

I had my share of bullying and teasing...none of which ever bothered me.

Watching that video reminded me of twice in my life, where some little punk kid wanted to "prove" himself to his buddies by picking on someone who was a bit bigger...but not "proven" yet.
Both of them found themselves lying on the ground with blood coming out of their noses.

And I don't condone fighting either...but I do believe standing up for oneself, or for those who can't stand up for themselves.

On a side note, it also reminds me of a story with my daughter.
I've never directly taken her aside to teach her about bullying or teasing, other than it's wrong to tease or pick on people.
Apparently at her daycare last fall, a couple of school-age kids were picking on her and a smaller friend of hers. She stood her ground, and directly told them to leave her friend alone. One of the school-age kids (age 7) pushed her...and she pushed right back...pushing the kid to the ground...then apparently stood over him with her finger pointing and chewed him out for picking on smaller kids.

The daycare wrote up the incident (as required)...but I honestly beamed with pride at her defensive position, and willingness to stand her ground against a bigger and oppressive opponent.
