Which is? And will save us how much?

I think our resident Edmonton peep say's their snow removal process sucks the proverbial big one.

All Sam wants is the Province to send the City more money! We cannot expect to cover the infrastrucure deficit with people living in the North and West end , not contributing their fair share .
Our City tax rates are so damn low that all we deserve is mud roads to drive on, which is pretty much what we have!
There isn't any large City in Canada in a better situation!
It is time to add 1% to out PST and let that $120,000,000 allow us to start repairing more streets.

Its actually time to completely eradicate the provincial government.
it serves no use, is bloated and rife with liars.

The city is rife with liars as well.

Let's change the ambers to 3 seconds and double the fine. That should generate another $5 or $10 million. And Winnipeggers will be totally okay with that kind of lying and cheating...

NOT engaging in a contract that makes other companies MILLIONAIRES off of photo enforcement would be a smart thing (IMHO)

Have them supply the equipment and maintain it and thats it. No way they should be making a fee off of every ticket.

How about we cut funding to things that are not in the city's mandate, such as 'the arts' and put those funds directly toward infrastructure renewal.

I'll bet there are hundreds of little programs that are for political purposes, for the most part, that could be chucked and nobody would be the wiser, or worse off for it. Just a guess.

The money that was diverted from the infrastructure repairs should be reverted back to such work. Slowly and we won't even feel it.

screw slowly.

make it painful

VERY painful.

Its a provincial and possibly federal election year. Force the fukers to fund it, if they feel its important.

Merge with Sasquatchewan (no daylight stupid time) or Ontario instead? Or maybe we should abandon this uninhabitable place called MB and give it back to the wildlife ... New Deal Part II - Page 2 27789

What are the chances they would actually put 100% of it into infrastructure and not divert just a little piece of it into some stupid pet project or white elephant Question

Speaking of new streets,
Why did they have to build Waverly West and re-route Waverly?
Why couldn't they just develop Kapyong Barracks?

Well they haven't settled the Kapyong ownership issue as yet.

Waverley has been rerouted? Where? When?

I suspect developers are developing south Winnipeg because that is where people want to live. There are no shortages of land in Charleswood and St. James available. I assume they are not as desirable> Just a guess.

See, now you are going to get me started.......................

Trust me, you do NOT want a plow budget similar to Edmonton, unless you like have virtually no clearing of residential street, snow that is piled in the middle or sides of major thoroughfares and/or snow left along the sides of ANY type of route turning 4 lane streets into 2.5 laned streets (seriously, you drive down one portion of a completely clear road and when the road curves............BOOM that outer or inner lane has a 1 meter pile of cleared snow and you nearly take off your entire front end because these idiots just decide to leave it there, with no notice or warning, for what seems to be however long they feel like it, if they ever bother clear it at all!!!), ZERO clearing of back lanes and public sidewalks, and FINES for physically challenged people and seniors with medical problems who are unable to clear their public sidewalks or back alleys within 48 hours. Edmonton is FINALLY looking at a model, from what I have heard anyways, of snowplowing similar to Winnipeg. THANK GOD!!!!!
