Does Harper and "The Conservatives" Deserve all the bad Press?

Nothing but bad press, just the same as Mulroney's complaints years ago!
Is this just the way the "journalists" handle all reporting, or is this something that Harper deserves?
He fired Helene Gergis awhile ago, without even talking to her, and Bev Oda, who it appears is a lying , lyar is being backed by Harper?

I have to say that Harper does deserve most of the bad press that he's been getting. I don't like the way he operates at all. If he demonstrated that he had any integrity he would have his majority government by now.

I miss Dion! Harper really killed him with negative ads!

Huh? How so? How would he have been able to arrange an election that he says nobody wants, and which polls suggest repeatedly that nobody wants.

Besides...I very much doubt that anyone besides a few talking heads and the opposition parties care about most of this pissy-assed stuff.

And judging by the 43% approval rating for the Conservatives, most people agree with this position.

How so? Every time his poll numbers get close to majority territory he pulls off some stunt that people perceive to be aggressive or mean spirited, or some easily-avoidable controversy knocks him back down. I did a blog post on this a while back and can't remember all of the examples I used, but peroguing parliament is one -- especially the second time; the census controversy is another. Ignatieff's leadership is so weak he could easily be polling in the mid 40s all time if he gave people a reason to like him.

It's almost as though he is afraid of having a majority. Maybe he's a total headcase .. he wants all the power but his subconscious won't let him have it.

Could he trigger an election? He can't under these circumstances because he is perceived as a power-hungry control freak. But that's his own fault. That's what I'm getting at.

As much as Harper is a brilliant tactical politician - I'd be in favour of a leadership contest - and Maxime Bernier replacing him. That's a solid majority move.

The B.Q. will get their 54 seats, so what has to happen by the numbers with the rest of the country?

306 seats-54= 252 left.
majority = 153 of the 252= 60% appx
