Today, another one on Bishop Grandin: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/Pedestrian-injured-on-Bishop-Grandin-112527874.html
McPhillips and Pacific, Dec 23, hit and run - fatal collision
Mapleglen and Inkster, Dec 24, fatal collision, hit and run. The driver reportedly backed up and then drove around the body to leave the scene, has since been arrested.
River and Osborne, Dec 23, hit and run, pedestrian in hospital with fractures.
Portage and Sherbrook, Dec 20,, 67 y/o pedestrian woman killed when hit by a transport bus.
Young St, Dec 20, a man helping his baby out of the car was hit by someone who then drove away.
What the heck is going on in this city?????
14 fatalities in the past year and three of them in the past week?
I must admit, a man who appeared to be in his late 60's or 70's stepped out on the street in front of our car on Christmas day without looking. He looked for cars AFTER stepping onto the street as we pulled well around him. This was in broad daylight - and in the dark when people are wearing dark parkas, it is very different. It really upset me after reading of all the fatalities that he would do that.
I don't know if alcohol might have relevance to this season's collisions on pedestrians: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/many-pedestrians-killed-on-streets-were-drinking-112119314.html
