List where you'd prefer your tax money be invested, and also where you wouldn't want your money to go.
I'll start:
1. I'd fix the underground sewage and water pipelines.
2. I wouldn't want to see money wasted on projects which are too expensive and badly planned (especially private usage or the selling of railroad properties).

1. Fund infrastructure deficit. The longer it takes to pay, the more expensive it gets and the less money we will have for other things. And infrastructure is something we all use and need.

2. Not a penny more for the human rights museum. The public is split on whether or not we want it and as GOM has said many times, there should have been a plebiscite. That would have settled it fairly, a long time ago.

Do a better job of planning, scheduling, and completing street renewal or repair.

Exhibit1. Mcgillvary at the Kenaston junction was under construction last summer and fall. This year Mcgillvary is under construction 1 block west of Kenaston..
Why couldn't this all be done last year?

Exhibit 2. Corydon is being "fixed" in a different area for the 2nd or is it 3rd year in a row.
Each year they fix a few blocks. At this rate it will take 10 years to complete the job. Just do the whole thing and get the job over with already.

Repair, upgrade and add to the core area recreational facilities.....more activities, better staff etc...will save the city millions in having to deal with youth crime?

Repair water and sewer systems....

THIS.. 10000000% THIS!

way way way too many times do we see a road being replaced, only to have to it torn up in 1 - 2 years when they need to replace the sewer underneath. It should not take a rocket surgeon to be able to plan ahead, check the sewer and see if it should be replaced at the same time.

Whats the result? The road is then patched over, poorly and degrades that much sooner.

Every 2 years the city re-paves Inkster between McPhillips and Sheppard. Every spring it is pot-hole city. If they would just re-build the street properly in the first place there would be no need to constantly re-do it.

I think that pretty much nails it. We spread our resources out too thin, then try to fix everything. What we end up with are half-assed repairs and second-rate construction.

There is that old saying "you can pay us now or you can pay us later" and that is what the city is experiencing.
