I understand that interferring with a guide dog (even stopping to pet one) is against the law.

As such, shouldn't the jerkoff that kicked the person out of the restaurant be charged?

"As such, shouldn't the jerkoff that kicked the person out of the restaurant be charged?"

As long as he talked to the owner or the owners friend and never once touched the dog. No.

You don't have to touch the dog to interferr with it.

I think what we have is a pimply-faced "manager" on something of a power trip who did not think this through very well. I suspect that he has well learned his lesson by now. Ditto corporate McDonald's. I bet that every single McDonald's employee has heard this story by now and all have been instructed on how to handle this should it ever happen again.

At least until they all forget...

With the way the manage their operations here, with pimly-faced area supervisors either into, or covering each other's asses, I doubt that is even being considered. I think they are just waiting to outlast this mess.

there is a thread about it.

I created it.

JTF... its not interfering with the dog by telling the owner to leave with the dog.

If the reason for telling the person to leave is the dog....ergo...

nope

that is not interfering with the dog. Its instead covered under the previously existing legislation that allowed people to use guide dogs. Two different things.

I have no idea what you are referring to.

One cannot address the dog without confronting the owner of the dog....but I'm not sure where you're going with this.

TALKING TO THE OWNER IS NOT TALKING TO THE DOG. AS SUCH YOU ARE NOT INTERFERING WITH THE DOG.

REFUSING THE OWNER AND GUIDE DOG ENTRY IS COVERED UNDER DIFFERENT ALREADY EXISTING LEGISLATION.

Bullshit.

Talking to the dog IS interferring.

Offence — person interfering with service animal
2(1) No person shall touch, feed, impede or interfere with a service animal, without lawful excuse or authority.

Or...until next month when the turnover of the industry has 1/2 the staff quit and new staff hired.
