Doer among 12 to be inducted into the Order of Manitoba . Outrageous.

The Doer era will be remembered as one of squandered opportunity.
They were against private health care.
They forced non-unionized floodway workers to pay union dues.
They continued to send the message that Manitoba was closed for business due their maintaining the dreaded payroll tax.
They also kicked the business community in the nuts by increasing the minimum wage.
They starved our post-secondary institutions of money by denying tuition increases.
They agreed to fund the politically correct controversial human rights museum.
They are planning on running a more expensive hydro line down the west side of Lake Winnipeg.
They hired hundreds of new, unionized, government workers, to further bloat the bureaucracy.

Without a doubt, Doer does not deserve this award.

Twice Doer during his term had mentioned wanting to set up a provincial educational television station like TVOntario.
He was the leader, in fact he was the Premier! Why didn't he get this done?
Does he really deserve to get the Order of Manitoba?
What did he really do (good) for our Province, to move it forward?
Funny, I can't think of any.

He didn't get it done because it's a really bad idea. An endless money pit.

In Ontario and Saskatchewan, provincially funded educational television features regional documentaries and current affairs programming (The Agenda with Steve Paikin on TVO) and international (BBC?) documentaries.
Commercial free.

On March 24, 2010, the Brad Wall government announced it would wind up SCN's operations, citing low ratings, with some operations such as distance education broadcasts to be transferred to SaskTel,[1] but it was later decided to keep the channel in operation while offers to buy it were evaluated.[2]
On June 21, 2010, the Saskatchewan government announced the channel
would be sold to Bluepoint Investment Corporation, pending CRTC
approval. Bluepoint will seek to amend SCN's licence to allow commercial
advertising.[3] The new owners plan on changing SCN to adopt a format similar to Access, an educational television network in Alberta owned by CTVglobemedia, which incorporates general entertainment programming alongside the existing educational programming.[4]

Commercial free.

Commercial free is a euphemism for taxpayer-funded.
