Saddam had used all the weapons in his 10 year , useless war against Iran. He did not want it known to Iran that he was out of those toys because it was a deterrent to start a new war, which Saddam was in no position to defend his country.
When Bush1 went in 1990? to repel Iraq from invading Kuwait, it was on the invitstion from the King of Kuwait, who was defenseless.
The real reason USA went in was to cement a relationship with Kuwait, for access to their oil, and have a friendly country in the area.
For some unknown reason the Arab states do not like USA.

While a precise definition varies among genocide scholars, a legal definition is found in the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). Article 2 of this convention defines genocide as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Wow! that would mean Canada's moving the Inuk people many years ago, to an area that was inhabitable, and which rsulted in so many deaths, would probably qualify??
Would you call the Canadian treatment of Aboriginal children also a genocide?
