But that was really northern Manitoba in mid-March. Not a smart idea to be jaunting around in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night...

Bringing awareness of substandard services felt by Aboriginals more than others is most likely on the chiefs agenda.
Concerns brought around changes to the entire police act in MB so there are people that obviously care.
I've heard many negative stories about Greyhound so I'd agree that this was just a dumb mistake requiring a policy about 'do not turn around near the end of a trip to pick up passengers that have missed their bus'.

I often wonder what these people did 300 years ago when they needed medical attention? Heck what did they do 100 years ago when they needed a doctor?
I wonder what would Canada be like if England had not gone soft on the Natives and French? Which leads me to another question. If most of the treaties were signed with representatives of England then why are we left holding the bag?

Back when these treaties were signed. that is about all that was here, grass and rivers. NO Cigaretts, no Alcohol, No Marijuana, No Meth, No Crack, No Winnipeg, NO Welfare, No doctors, No TV, NO Cars, No Snowmobiles, No Media.
So lets just give them a ticket to England, they can fly there and deal with the country who wrote the treaties. Has anyone noticed that the French did not enter into any treaties with the natives.
And while I'm at it, I was born in Canada, My parents were born in Canada, That makes me Native to this land. I was also born on Earth that makes me a native of Earth. Lets look back, way back. Where did the so called natives of Canada come from?
They crossed a land bridge from Asia and migrated here. My ancestors did the same thing.
So in all reality all people in what is present day Canada have come here from another continent. Natives included.
But what if they say, We were here first. well I can say that is BS. since several archaeological digs on the eastern shore turned up artifacts that can be traced back 5000 years before Asians crossed into North America. These artifacts belong to a race of stone tool using cave dwellers from France/Germany area of Europe.
So, from now on. I would like to be called First Nation of Earth, Native to Earth and North America. It is about time Italy started to pay me damages fro all the bad things the Roman Empire did to my people.

We should all reap the same benefits as Aboriginals....?
No. We should all be equal. That means we all get nothing. It is their status that will change. Ours will remain the way it should be - serving a country that in turns serves it's people. You get back what you put in. It's called effort - not rights.
