I think it was in yesterdays paper.. not sure. Cant find it in their online edition and I dont care to look that hard. But anyway CJOB etal are moving to Polo Park. And a brand new 85000 Sq foot retail and business mall is being built on the old Winnipeg Arena site.

Yes I know its always been the plan to build mall type stuff on the old arena site. But doesn;t this announcement pretty much put the final nail in the coffin of Asper's plan to build his own mall on the stadium site?

Can Winnipeg actually handle a MASSIVE mall going up at the IKEA site along with the Winnipeg Arena Mall. AND a "high end" mall on the stadium site?

Is there anyone who believes that there are enough high end stores out there that are willing to go into the polo park area to form a major mall?

The like$ of the A$pers think there is enough demand for a high end retail mall so "if they build, they will come". Not sure about the rest of "us" but I certainly won't partake.

It isn't as much up to the Aspers as it is up to the store itself as to whether it wants to open an outlet.

I find it difficult to determine that JTF thinks it is a bad idea for someone to approach Asper in regards to approaching a particular store. He raises a valid point that the store in question would have to make its own decision regarding that move.

I think that you can approach Asper, but that it's probably a waste of time.

If Asper needs help figuring out just whom to approach, he's in bigger trouble than I figured he's in.

It's not a matter of "needing help" JTF. Do you have "all the answers" in your area of expertise? You can't learn something from a current or former or potential customer?

Think he might have better luck with lowering the standards abit , as to stores in it . In the mean time do we not have enough friccking malls here yet . We are so boring here malls are the highlight of the city sad .
