I see no point in simply filling the space with a cost to the taxpayer.
I mean...c'mon. We have a very, very expensive hole at the Forks right now...let's leave the land hole-less until private money comes along.

the other thing to note.....
Unlike what all most people are going on about. This is not actually targetting the inner city youth. Its targetting all of the youth in Winnipeg. I would hope that perhaps getting more kids downtown ( and their parents!) will have a positive effect on the area.

They already drive their kids downtown to at least one of their attractions.

seriously. I know several parents who run their kids to all sorts of areas in the city for events exactly what will be at this one specifically because of the religous part. I HOPE it will help to change the area. But all it will take is the first St Vital boy to get beat up waiting for a bus and this place will fail.

They currently park their cars on Talbot in Elmwood at their current offices.
They also park their cars at The Edge Skatepark which is only a few blocks away across from the Prosperity Knitwear building.
What's your point?
