Oh wow... The guy who initially pushed him down (while he was obviously surrendering) on that clip spreads his legs... then punts him in the balls at 40 seconds.

Did you notice that the guy was hiding a stapler?
It is intersting how police experts all interpret it one way , and we who aren't experienced enough to understand a perp getting down on his knees when surrounded by 4-6? police officers!
The guy deserved some of the punishment, but it was simply a police problem catching this on tape. I thought police were experienced in checking for cameras, etc?
Obviously they need a refresher course.
There were only 2 of the 6 that were pounding him?

Wait... where'd the story go about the assault with a cross inside a cell?

I just can not understand why you guys are feeling sorry for this guy.
He was driving a stolen truck.
He drove the stolen truck at the cops.
He drove the stolen truck in a reckless manner scattering pedestrians.
He damaged some other things with the stolen truck.
He could have killed someone with the stolen truck.

And some people want to persecute the cops. Question

Hell if you want to get mad, get mad at the people who continue to let the automobile thieves off with a slap on the wrist after they come up with some B.S. sob story.
The cops are just trying to protect the public.
And no I am NOT a cop.
I am just sick of these $#%# thieves making a mockery of the Justice system.

You've said this several times now. Can you show us where anyone has said they feel sorry for the bad guy?

I'd suggest most people are unhappy with the Canadian justice system. What has that to do with cops going overboard?

This is not simply the cops trying to protect the public. Are you saying it is okay for the police to use excessive force when arresting people?

the differences being that they are offices sworn to uphold the law, not officers sworn to pass judgement and execute the sentence.

And they are definately not officers above the law.

The first thing that I noticed was that the suspect was assaulted within a few seconds of the video. Yes assaulted.

He was going down to the ground, as I assume he was instructed to, and some fcukhead cop came and pushed him down.

That is assault.

I believe that even the experts on the subject have said this.

Some very interesting revelations in today's free Press. To those defending the actions of these officers please help me reconcile the notes of PC Law with the video...

What did Const. Law's notes say about the arrest?

"(Officer 1) approached the accused with his Taser drawn, while (Officer 2) approached with his firearm drawn.

Both issued clear verbal commands instructing the accused to get on the ground, but Bousquet refused to obey. (Officer 2) then pulled the accused to the ground, at which point he holstered his firearm and (I) aided him and (Officer 1) in handcuffing Bousquet.

Bousquet immediately began to resist officers.

He began to flail around and refused to give up his hands, despite repeated commands to do so by all officers present. Bousquet appeared to be intoxicated or high on some form of drug, as he struggled considerably with officers who were unable to gain control of his arms, which he continually swung at police and tried to shove into his waistband.

It should be noted that Bousquet was bleeding significantly from his face at this point. (Officer 2) and (Officer 1) alternatively attempted to control Bousquet's legs, while aiding (me) in gaining control of his arms. As the struggle progressed, Bousquet became noticeably more aggressive and began fighting with officers much more fiercely.

Control could not be gained and the writer delivered one to two knee strikes and five to six elbows to the shoulder, arms and upper back area of the accused in an attempt to lessen his resistance and gain compliance. Meanwhile, (Officer 4) delivered four to five knee strikes to the left torso of the accused. None of these strikes by either officers had any effect on Bousquet.

(Officer 1) then deployed two full deployments of the Taser to the accused's right thigh/buttock area in the form of dry stuns without a cartridge, which allowed officers to finally gain control of his arms and place him in handcuffs."

That Law report is exactly what I see in the video, except the stapler was left off the report! lol
Signed, "some law enforcement officers!"
This is another example of why some overly zealous officers MAY, need some class time "control your frustrations" when some ass whole tries to kill you in a stolen car.
This guy in court, because he had a poor upbringing ,would get 18 months, double time credit for 6 months in remand, and then out with time served, making the officers look silly.
The courts do not protect us, the law abiding, (not counting DeanK), citizens. This guy is out on the street and offending again!
The perp is not afraid of the system, but takes advantage of its leniency!

Sarcasm duly noted. I guess you're pissed that too many cops are painted with the same brush. Have I pretty much summed up how you feel?

Now try to feel how those of us feel when we are confronted too often with instances of cops lying, beating people up, killing them while driving drunk, covering up evidence leading to wrongful convictions...

So you'll forgive me when I say I don't appreciate your sanctimonious snark for a cop simply DOING HIS FRICKING JOB.

I just get tired of people painting with empty brushes that sums it up for me , not that their are not bad cops but, but come on to paint all that is a stretch . AND THAT JOB IS HARDER THEN ANY WE DO . So lets cut the bs and give it and some a break . Hope you are accurate JTF as you may get sued .

I am very accurate. Trust me Pav, my brush is loaded with paint.

What does it say when a cop says "Fcuk the rentalsman"?

I think then argue against those that are painting with the alleged empty paint brush.

I don't care how hard the job is pav. Don't you understand that this is a job they voluntarily agreed to do and they are well paid at the same time?

So again, forgive me if I don't accept these specious arguments.

I 100% agree with your last post GOM...and...

And if there are cops that "can not handle the heat" then they should get the hell out of the kitchen so that those cops that "can handle the heat" can do their job in the kitchen...and...

And also without having to be painted with the same brush as the ones that can't handle the heat...and...

And mainly because the "minority of cops" that can't handle the heat make it look bad for all the "majority of cops" that can handle the heat of being a cop...GGF

I will say that yes you are right about it , Would be interesting to hear what you would say after joining them on the job . Please do not tell me you would be above all the stress anger and most of all the abuse you take .
Never mind the sights and the trip to the door to tell a parent that there child is dead from a drunk driver. But I guess you people are better then most . Yes you are right can,t stand the heat get out of the kitchen ,
Not that the job is an excuse for the covering up of an offence like the drinking party in St Andrews . But to beat a perp who tries to run you over and kill you , he had it coming .

Oh boo hoo. Cry me a fcuken river ya' cop-sucker!

When you can't tell the good guys from the bad, we're in trouble.

...and we're in trouble.

And people like you make it more difficult to fix the problem because you are always defending their bad behaviour.

Pav. Get your head out of their asses!!

GGF

Exactly JTF...When you can't tell the difference between the good guys from the bad guys your in trouble...and...

And then some...The point that Pav doesn't seem to understand is that we have Legislators who create laws that the Police are suppose to uphold and administer on "All Our Behalf" as a "Society" including the "Police" themselves...and...

And not have Police write/create whatever law(s) or administer whatever justice "Police feel is needed or justified"...and...

And the problem becomes the following...

At what point does the same society all of a sudden have "Police Administer Justice on All It's People" and or "At will" if the Police are no longer held "Accountable" to the Laws that our Legislators write?...and...

And in other words...When does that society become a "Police State" as a result of Police being above the law?"...and...

And yes "Police States" have happened elsewhere in the histories of the world and yes it could happen here in Canada in the future also...GGF
