as to schools closing. I have talked to some people and apparently the main reason behind not closing schools within winnipeg is the HUGE financial hit that would happen from thousands of parents having to call in to stay off from work

The reason why they close them in St. Norbert is that the bus garage is in Lorette, and there are a lot of kids that come from St. Adolphe and LaSalle.

Aren't you in Europe somewhere? I'm talking about Winnipeg. How much snow, in total, is there on the ground?
Uhm. I just wrote that there ain't any snow here. As you can read to the left, there's the darn place where me's at right now. If you wanna pick a fight with me, I won't give a mouse's click. Get a brain and leave the Sandbox alone. If you can't get along with us, then find something better to do.

Sorry to ruffle your peacock feathers. I didn't realize you get so easily offended with someone asking where you are from. If you wanna pick a fight with me, I won't give a mouse's click. Get a brain learn to accept when someone just didn't read what was besides them and had a brain fart. If you can't get along with me, then don't bother responding.

SAD - is that an oblique reference to Seasonal Affective Disorder? If so, clever..... Blizzard warning! - Page 2 Icon_smile

So the drive home was uneventful and took no more time then usual. The roads, generally speaking, are relatively good.

I haven't even left my house today. I am fighting a bad cold and the hubby stayed home to look after the kiddies while I tried to get some much needed rest. I did manage to make a big pot of turkey chili, nothing like a hearty chili on a cold winters day.

In the city the roads were okay (so I have been told). I have a few friends who live outside of the city and they all had "snow" days today. Some highways were closed and those that weren't closed were treacherous.

I was hoping for a snow day today. No such luck. I even made three trips through the city this morning! Other than one or two real bozo's it went well.

Just looked at the webcams, there ain't too much snow on the ground... Especially Gimli, just a sprinkle over last year's light cover.
There's more snow in Turkey.
Okay, Dean, okay.
We all know there's STUFFING in YOUR Turkey.

yeah.. not much snow in Manitoba right now. A few skidoo rallys had to be cancelled or moved out of province so far. But now, well.... there should be enough in most places. But just barely.. and it will be hard packed or almost solid ice.

Despite the "blizzard" we did not get much actual snowfall in Winnipeg. Most of the problems were caused by drifting snow I'd say.

Outside Winnipeg was a different problem I understand. Especially around PlaP.
