I want this to work. but there are a huge number of "ifs" involved. Lets hope they are successful.

how much would it cost to fly a 6-8 passenger plane from say pukatawagan to winnipeg and how long would that take?

So assemblin them in Wpg at a wage of $15 per hour as compared to .50 per hour , in a tax free zone, with tax rebates, tax breaks, no taxes will be a success. This tax free area has been available for years , and across the country, and in 116 areas, and the total number of areas that have taken advantage of this system has been..... ZERO!
Why zero? Because it has ZERO chance unless a government gets involved then we will put $20 of tax money in to get $1 in return!
That is what our different governments have as their mandate!
You have businessess that will go out and make things work, when they analyze the situation, which has been done regarding the tax free zones.
We have 30 members of the manitoba community out at the taxpayer dollar, down in Mexico in January. Hmm??

Depends on who's flying the plane.
If it's a personal flight...it would cost the plane rental (I think about $280/hour right now, might be as high as $400/hour)
Flight time would be approximately 4-6 hours, depending on the wind, the type of plane, etc.
If you're carrying luggage for all of them, and you're taking 8 passengers, they won't fit in an 8-passenger, you'd need a 10-12.

If you want to charter a plane...add another $80-100/hour for the pilot(s).

You can easily get a quote if you go to the Keystone Air website for chartering planes. As far as a personal rental...you'd have to find someone who is rated for that size plane and personally talk to them...and if they don't have a commercial rating...they can't charge you for the flight (pilot services).

I am more along the lines of thinking.... Work planes.
Right from their home reserve to the airport. home every friday night and back to work every monday morning. No luggage neccessary except the first trip in.

Just wondering at what level does it become cost effective.

Why take them from Puk to Winnipeg and not, say, The Pas or Flin Flon?

because supposedly there will be 50,000 or 10 million or whatever new jobs with this centreport and they will be "starving" for workers. Just like the oil patch was routinely flying guys in from the maritimes.
