Just counting the crimes in the area. Crime Stat Map is above.

87% of all crime in Winnipeg has its roots from the North End! It is that simple!
Point Douglas is one of the worst areas that is sending out its inhabitants to do damage in other areas, because there is one blond bimbo, who has scared all the people living there, to get out and meet other Winnipeg areas. Way farther west in the North End there is a similar household scaring the true Northenders to seek G.O.M. and travel down Wellington Crescent to do damage, thankfully East of the St James Bridge.
West of the bridge, there is one house that has a new set of leaves stuck in its eaves trough!

The West End extends further north than Portage. Sargent and Ellice extend thru the West End.

Miz point wrote:Wow....a difference of 18 crimes between the "south" and the "north".....or is the provision of these numbers irrational as well? That is not a huge gap in terms of events. Interesting.
Actually, this is irrational... I know you say this to illustrate a point, but one week does not a trend make... But it is still more than 50% higher than the south end!

On the point of "irrationality" I was referring to the naming of problem streets.....I do not find the naming of problematic streets to be "irrational" as is implied by JTF's phraseology. How on earth is that not rational? Or is it not rational because the post was done by me? All these little digs and jabs at my expense......now that is irrational.

And no GOM I do not spot a trend nor stated one....only said that I found the numbers "interesting".

How can you imply that I said anything about "irrational" in my post?

Is Elmwood considered the West End of Transcona, or the North End of St. Boniface?

JTF wrote:Whatever.

Most rational people don't differentiate between streets in an area.

I believe there is the answer to your own question regarding implications of irrationality. I fail to see how pointing out problem streets in one neighbourhood can be deemed as not rational.

Differentiating between a street or two in an area is not what I call rational.

Perhaps to you but to those individuals that reside in a given area being able to identify streets where there is more criminal activity or rougher elements I believe is key to the eventual eradication of said problems so how one could possibly believe that knowledge as being irrational does not make sense.

Neither. Elmwood is the only part of the "old city" east of the Red. So to answer, Elmwood is in Winnipeg proper.

30 crimes in the south end.
48 crimes in the north end.
41 crimes in the east end.
13 crimes in the west end.
57 crimes in central.

Not very many crimes in the downtown/exhange district areas.

Define crimes? Are all the south end "crimes" just students doing stupid sh1t by the university? Maybe all the North End crimes are violent crimes. I think this statistics sheet is kind of useless.

appx 190 crimes is so pitifully low! What an embarassement for comparison purposes.
Did they count that pair who won the 50 million as a crime?
As LD has inquired- Are they broke yet?
