Good week for two Bombers.
Winnipeg's Bowman tops CFL Players of the Week
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Winnipeg wide receiver Adarius Bowman, Montreal defensive back Jerald Brown, Blue Bombers kick returner Jovon Johnson and Saskatchewan linebacker Mike McCullough have been selected as the CFL's top players for the 15th week of the season.
Bowman picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors with a monster performance in the Bombers 38-28 triumph over division rival Hamilton in which he totaled 213 yards on 10 receptions with a pair of touchdowns. He had 180 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches in the first half alone and became the first receiver to reach the 200-yard mark in a game since the 2007 season.
Brown garnered Defensive Player of the Week accolades for producing two interceptions and four tackles to key an Alouettes defense that held Calgary to 11 points in a convincing 21-point win. His four interceptions on the year tie him for second place in the league.
Johnson received the Special Teams Player of the Week award for the second straight week, having returned three kickoffs for 115 yards with a 38.3 yard average. He also had eight punt returns for 69 yards in Winnipeg's victory.
McCullough rounded out the weekly winners with Canadian Player of the Week honors. He was instrumental in leading the Roughriders defense with eight tackles in a 32-22 win against Toronto.
