Of course there's a connection.

That only makes the idea of a high end mall even more questionable...especially in Wholesale City for gawd sake.

doubtful. They all pull down pretty decent salaries in their jobs, never mind the fact that putting $15 million into the business.. even if that only leaves them with $1million still means they have $999,999.00 more then me

They are not even close to broke.
The shareholders... thats another question.

And what is the reference to Lenny?

The problem is, that economy is not going to rebound so much in a year that he will be able to make his deal work.

It does not make the idea questionable. Merely the timing...

lets pretend for a moment the deal falls through.
The football club and taxpayers put in $25 million to fixing up the stadium.. What happens then? We wait another 20 years before we build a new one?

We could always take that 25 mill and build bleachers at the old Canada Packers site and call it a "stadium"....demo the old stadium, sell off the land, and use that money to put in some washrooms, maybe a few tents with heaters in them for the cooler months, and Bob's your uncle.

No artificial turf needed!

A made in Winnipeg solution!

lol

the artificial turf is actually movable. No sense letting to go to waste, just move it with the stadium.

Roll it over top for the next game if the grass hasn't recovered by then....

But yeah, no sense wasting it!

$2 million for toilets should be enough..
I wonder how many bleachers we could build with the remaining $23 million?

Umm. What does this mean? They ARE the same company? Creswin owes CanWest money? Creswin owed CanWest money? CanWest is an investor in Creswin?

Please elaborate...
Canwest was a financial backer of creswin. Canwest is now in creditor protection. Therefor CresWin needs to get backing from others, as big brother is broke.
But that is not what you said. I suggested the two companies were two separate companies. You said look again.

Are they or aren't they two separate companies?
2 separate companies, yes. sorry (brain fart) yes.

I must have got my wires crossed. I know they are 2 separate companies, I was stating that Canwest provided creswin some financial backing.

better yet. we can Build a nice new domed all season stadium that holds 35k. have a hotel and water park attached. In the winter it can house the Winnipeg Jets NHL team, in the summer it could house The Winnipeg Blue Bombers CFL team and the UofM bisons football team. And build it right we could even have a indoor soccer team too. Lots of fun for the kids year round in the water park while mom's and dads watch games or concerts. and if you get too drunk, just get a room in the hotel.

If we had 35k seats, we could sell volume and bring down the cost per seat which would = more seats sold per game. I could see 30k people per game for NHL in this town. especially if the ticket prices were reasonable.

more especially if the dome was retractable and they could play in and we could watch in -30 weather... just for proof we are die hard fans.
