Emergency crews are at an industrial fire in Winnipeg's South Point Douglas neighbourhood.
Flames and smoke can be seen for several blocks from the scene at Higgins Avenue and Gomez Street.
Traffic in the area is being rerouted.

actually it was a roofing incident.

a roofing crew was torching on a new roof and set it on fire.

thanks to them, and not following regulations...all of us working on roofs in Winnipeg are going to be harassed for the next month by WSH with inspections of our policies & procedures.

I betcha they were able to provide roofing services much cheaper than everyone else because they didn't have to follow those pesky "regulations" from big brother gummerment!

everybody has to follow them...just that some companies choose not to...and now everybody pays for it.

I am still stuck up my roof, trying to clean out my eaves trough! Anyone coming over for a barbeque? I will have it up on the roof! Please bring a ladder I may want to get down soon as the weather gets colder. Maybe well have a big chunk of climate change so I can stay up here?
