We should. He'd likely be the very oldest antique they've ever seen.

I just called to make an appt as we have quite a few antiques/family heirlooms. Smile

Cool.
Question for you.
If they said your great grandma's whositwhatis was worth 2.5 million, would you sell?

I have always wondering about some of the people who have these super ancient family heirlooms if they would sell. I know I would not but then again we dont have any super old family heirlooms.

We too have a lot of antiques from family that we have had appraised by an antique collector/dealer and depending on what the item is, yes I would sell it.

I have an appt on September 25th! I have no idea what the stuff is worth but I am eager to find out. We have an antique clock, a set of Encyclopedias from the 1800's as well as a cane with a solid gold top!

Sorry for showing up late! Why don't we take JTF, GOM and myself to get an estimate?

I'm going, hopefully I dont get robbed as I leave. It would not supprise me if some people lurk and watch to see what is worth alot and then follow them to their car and rob them.

We should be allowed to defend ourselves. In my mind it is a basic human right to be able to defend oneself.

The Winnipeg Free Press posted a correction to the article:

CORRECTION: The tour is called the ArtiquesRoadshow, not the Antiques Roadshow, as reported in a previous version of this story.
They call themselves the British Artiques Roadshow but are based in Canada.
I'm don't think it is a scam, but they do charge for appraisals.

Appointments must be pre-booked by visiting the Portage Place Customer Service Centre or by calling 925-4410. Each appointment is 10 minutes long and can accommodate up to 3 items - however there's no limit to the number of items you can bring in, or the number of appointments you can book. Each item is assessed a small fee - $15 for one item, $25 for two items, and $30 for three items.

It's not even affiliated with the real Antiques Roadshow....lame! Pretty crappy website too.

While it may not be a "scam" it sure looks like a scam. They are playing on the Antiques Roadshow name and enhancing it by calling it the "British" roadshow. I'm surprised the real program has not sued these people.

It surprizes me too. Prhaps they are unaware of the scam operation.
