Looks like Mexico has just legalized small amounts for personal possession. I can't wait until I go back to Puerto Vallarta! LOL

Sounds fairly close to the law the liberals were going to try to pass...

When Canada "threatened" to legalize it the US had a conniption fer Christ's sake. It should be legalized here. Take it off the street and out of our courts.

This will cut down on the extortion that the cops commit. Only time will tell what effects this will have.

There is a difference between legalization and decriminaliztion. Mexico decriminalized "personal use" amounts only.

Will this really cut out police corruption tho? I don't think so.... if they want to jail ya, they can find some other bogus charges...

The Mexicans have a 'police' problem and the Americans have a 'need' problem. I think the Mexicans want to get their police force(s) straightened out and concentrate on the cartels....mostly to appease the Americans and the tourist industry, imo anyway.

If you eliminate the reason the cops can collect graft, it will help. It will never stamp out police corruption, but close it a bit at the street level though I reckon.
