"“It’s hell. We have nearly lost hope,” Österfärnebo resident Maria Brooks told the Dagens Nyheter (DN) newspaper.

“We just to sit inside and look at each other.”

Brooks's family has owned a farm in the area since 1540, complete with horses, cows, goats and hens.

But an ageing fence remains unmended and other chores are piling up as the mosquitoes have put a stop to all outdoor work.

“You become really stressed, that you can’t go out and do the things that need to be done,” said Brooks.
"

no matter how bad our skeeter problem has been I could still go outside and do stuff and this includes the fact that I have lived in many areas on MB and Sask that dont control mosquitos at all.

It's Mind over Matter....You don't mind then it don't matter......when we used to go blueberry picking up north we had to dress like Hezbollah just because of the black flies....add the mossies into the mix and you had to suffer for those delectable berries....worth the agony.

BTW this is post 1000......yipppeeeeeeee!

I wonder if the good people in Sweden have never heard of insect repellent.. or is it maybe illegal because of the deet?

We should send Taz and the nature-loving freaks running Winnipeg over there.

They can setup "no-spray" zones based on the demands of one whiney person while everyone else around suffers at the bite of the bug.

What these Swedes SHOULD be doing...is importing dragonflies & bats...that will wipe out the mosquitoes in about a week.
