so air Canada has decided for a small fee ( up to $100 per flight ) people can bring their pets into the cabin on flights

They say they will limit it to a small number of pets per flight depenging on the size of the aircraft due to allergies.

Sheesh...anyone else have a problem with this?

I have a problem with it as far as allergies, smell and noise. And what happens when this small animal get away from the owner and starts running all over the place?
What was wrong with the animal hold in the plane, it is heated and on some flights there are attendants who will make sure the animals are doing ok.

would it maybe make more sense to allow the people to visit their pets in a special area of the hold?
Or let me guess. security issues right?

There were pets in the cabin on the last flight I took (back in January). Someone had their poodle in a pet carrier. Damn thing yapped the whole way from Minneapolis to Puerto Vallarta (4 hours)...

I'm glad I wasn't paying for the flight.

I never had a problem with it before they put the ban in place so I don't have much of an issue with them getting rid of the ban. It hasn't been around for very long.

Not all cargo holds are created equal. Some are not pressurized and some are not heated. Both of which are not conducive to critter survival.

The critters allowed in the cabin have to be contained in an approved pet transport AND fit under the seat. That means they'd be tiny critters and not likely to do much damage if they did get away.

Can't speak to the allergies thing but I find some excessive perfume and cologne so much more offensive. Then there is other allergy sufferers out there. Those allergic to dust and peanuts etc. Do we pander to everyone?

Then there are the unbelievable annoying screaming, kicking, shitting kids that we have to deal with...

Suck it up and accept that to some pets are very important in their lives.
