If someone abused you.. what would you do to prevent them abusing your kids

Say you were abused as a young person, physical and verbal for sure and perhaps even sexual.

What would you do to prevent your children being abused by the same people? Would you give your life if need be? Would you kill the people who are taking your kids to be abused?

What would you do?

That's a good question.....one that I haven't come to grips with yet, which probably explains why I don't yet have children. We're not entirely sure if we want to have any either...

yeah the Law and Order SVU last night was "difficult" to watch to say the least... but this ends up relating to another story here in Canada at the same time.

How would it work if you were verbally, and sexually abused for over 40 years, and you did not realize it until it was too late?

If you were young enough, would you realize what was happening to you (being abused) was wrong, or would you think it was "normal"?

Abuse has devastating effects, sometimes making a victim into another abuser perhaps.

But I was more referring to less individual issues. more of a group thing.

yeah but can that many people have really believed it was normal or that they had absolutely no power to stop it?

I would be dead long before I allowed my children to be taken away from me like that.

Damn....you are absolutely right. But since they are manufactured does this mean they can reproduce or are they like replicants from Blade Runner where they have a fixed shelf life???

I know this has gone off-topic but in answer to the OP's query I would not expose my children to my own abusers of the past.....not a chance.

If I were dead then I could not protect my children.....i would find creative ways to deal with the abusers if they so chose to interfere in my family life.
