There are lots of stories about those that did not help and those that did help!

What I see is a continuation of atrocities that are going on throughout the world!

You could look at the aboriginals in canada, the uneducated , no medical Americans, and then go into Mexico and into every country in the world, and find plenty of need.

I think that because many look at the Jewish stories and what many have been able to achieve through hard work, education and more hard work, that there is some small number of red necks that are still looking to blame someone as scapegoats.

When someone makes an anti-semitic remark, I know that person does not know any one Jewish as an aquantance or a neighbour, or as a friend.

I used to have terrible thoughts about DeanK, until I met him! I was jealous of his posting prowess, and it wasn't until we broke bread together ,twice apparently (my memory is really bad with old age) that I was able to change my mind from hating him to just wanting to break his computer!

I think my "like everyone" attitude has come about in my upbringing, and having one or more of "everyone" in our classroom, that is after grade 7. It probably didn't hurt to be brought up "jewish" with the understanding that we, the Jews, had been continually been picked out as special, and had been treated to remove that special status.

The freedom that Canada has is very special! You have a damn good chance to make a good life for yourself and your family, simply by working hard at whatever you are working at!

My closest 3 friends are dead! And that really sucks, because in life you don't make too many "close friends". Many acquaintances, but not many friends!
This forum is a great place to make new acquaintances, and after having drinks and a cigar in my gazeebo, you could work on turning them into friends!

I have no idea what you have said! When my birthday barbeque or whatever the gathering will be called, you will be invited. I love nothing better than a bunch of idiots, each with different opinions arguing over something that we have no control over! maybe that is why I have so much fun on the forum.
3 of my best friends and a 4th who was a great debater, U.S. origin, all are gone. That mix was absolutely dynamite when we got together! The U.S. (professor) was of the opinion that the US army should kill everyone, and if some innocent civilians got killed, the US would write a cheque to the living with a card saying sorry!
Boy do I miss that!
