I could build 1 million Teepee's, More than enough for every Aboriginal in Canada. Since that is what they were accustom to living in when treaty 1 and most of the other treaties were signed. Alcohol, Taxi cabs, Television, Phones, Welfare, Daycare, etc were not included in the treaties. Why do we continue to waste federal/provincial public money on keeping them from becoming productive citizens?

actually acohol was specifically included in most of the treaties... specifically that no Treaty person was ever supposed to consume it. Also specifically that no treaty person was every supposed to harm any of the Queens other subjects or and of the Queens property and that all of the Queens laws would be followed.

Now wouldn;t that mean that if a person broke the treaty by comsuming alcohol or breaking any law, that they are no long treaty members?

Yeah but i would still get the crap kicked outta me anyway if I mentioned those facts in certain company. Interesting though....very interesting....would make for a good editorial piece.....

simple contract law seems to say that you break the contract, you null the contract.
Now one Native person breaking the contract cant really null it for all of them.. but they sure can null it for themselves...

hmm....but then... whom does the land go too?

There are 356 homes on Kenaston that could be transferred to the aboriginal nations that ned them, and I am sure that moving them might be able to be done at a cost less than $250,000 each.
What I am not sure is if they would arrive in any condition. That might not be a possibility because drywall would likely crack. If it could be done that certainly would help out. Too bad no one can act in a reasonable timeframe. Those houses have been empty only 3 years and the maintenance costs etc aren't big enough to o anything about it!
estimated moving cost is $73,000 per home to $121,000, which in my books comes to $730,000 to $1,210,000 each if the government looks after it! lol

One of the important things about those houses is that they are likely to contain asbestos tainted flooring(in the tiles, and drywall ,lead paint, mercury, arsenic, and other toxins , so that would be in keeping with the governments record of screwing up the aboriginals.
This would seem to be a win-win situation.
We all know that when it was pointed out that many reservation homes had zonolite in them the federal government did nothing to remove that proven dangerous , life threatening substance. There was a program that talked to some aboriginal people who remembered that they used to play in the attic that had zonolite, and many of the residents had died from cancer.
I am sure tis is just another one of the many claims going on.
