Well it sure sounds good, but I distinctly remember that the officers are only testifying at the inquiry after being given immunity.

Yeah, but the Attorney General announced yesterday that the case will be reviewed again...and that due to the video, the charges may yet come.

not sure how that can be done.... they were given immunity...unless they are charged with a different crime then they were given immunity for?

Immunity would only apply when NOT LYING! These guys lied through their teeth even when confronted with contrary video proof. Charge them. Convict them. Throw them in jail. At the very least kick them the frick off the force.

At the very least, they should be charged with manslaughter imo.

I very much doubt that they were given any sort of immunity. It's their job to testify in court btw, so it makes no sense for them to be given anything.

They may very well be given pink-slips though. Smile

Good, I hope they charge them with whatever they can.

I hope specifically they make an issue of the officers false statements given to the court.

The Mounties involved in the 2007 Taser death of Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver International Airport could face perjury charges, B.C.'s ministry of the attorney general announced Friday.

In a statement, the Criminal Justice Branch of the ministry announced that the special prosecutor appointed to review the decision not to prosecute any of the officers involved has recommended perjury charges against the officers.

It is about time. These icewholes have received preferential treatment for four years since they murdered Dziekanski. I want them to receive jail time.

Peck concluded that there was no likelihood of conviction for any potential charges connected with the circumstances of the physical altercation between police and Dziekanski.

I reckon there should be something that they did wrong criminally as they did kill this guy. This doesn't make sense to me.
