So hmm,
The bell rep i spoke to on the phone said, no problem, go to a bell store in Winnipeg, even gave me the generic address at polo park and said go there, they'll change your number and biling. So i called wireless wave and the nice lady who certainly sounded like she knew what she was talking about said exactly what I thought before which was that MTS used to 'adopt' those customers, but now they were no longer doing it, and from what shes heard from people asking the similar question to mine, is that they've ended up buying out their contracts as they cannot get 'local' service in manitoba. The good news is the contract is long up and shes month to month service now.....
My search for the truth continues......

Another call to bell, guy says no problem call us when you get there and we'll change it. (though he seemed fresh from training and didn't sound like he was looking much of anything up).

The "truth" from MTS, is that MTS used to license their mobile through Bell, but they wanted to create their own service.
So MTS has launched their own mobile service, but it still has limitations (such as you can't send photos or videos through it yet).
Bell, meanwhile, is left hanging in Manitoba...so they are launching their own stores and moving in to compete directly with MTS.
From the MTS tech service people I've talked with (for HOURS dealing with some issues)...they said it wasn't a happy breakup...and both companies are left with unresolved issues.
Maybe go get a deal with Rogers for a year or two till they fix all the Bell/MTS issued

yeah...but that's not sending photos through MTS phone...that's through e-mails.
basically "texting" photos & videos is not possible through MTS currently.

I can do it. But I am on 3G. not sure if that matters. Well I only can if it stays connected long enough.

That's what i have heard too. MTS used to re-brand Bell phones and could get fairly good deals. Now they are out on their own and don't have the size to negotiate good deals with phone suppliers. On the other hand, they have better coverage in rural MB.AGEsAces wrote:
