So I was just wondering if these Shop Vac Pump Vacs can pump water well enough to get about 2 inches of water of a garage floor... does any one own one of these or have expreince with one and would you recommend it for this kinda job?

Thanks!

They will work. Just be sure to empty the can when it's about half full. If the water gets into the motor, well just don't let that happen.

Its one of those ones were you can hook a garden hose up to it and it will actaully pump the water @ 5 gallons a minutes. Its not super high flow, but I figured it may do the job. I am wondering though if it will crap out in 5 minutes. lol but Shop Vac is usually a good brand.

You'll find out in 5 minutes. If so, return under warranty...

ha yes. but this is an easy fix once it dries up. basically some one sloped the walk way leading up to the garage right in to the garage's side door. I will just get some quick set cement and build it up and a way from the door. My place (both house and garage) seem to like to have more water inside then out. lol!

So I bought one of those pump shop vacs last night and it made very short work of the water. I spend about $150 on it and is the only vacuum that I would spend that money on again!

What surprised me was you found one... The Sunday newscast suggested they were as scarce as hen's teeth in Winnipeg. Same with sump pumps.
