(a) subject to paragraph (a.1), if
the subject matter of the offence is a substance included in Schedule I
or II, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment
for life, and


(i) to a minimum punishment of imprisonment for a term of one year if


(A)
the person committed the offence for the benefit of, at the direction
of or in association with a criminal organization, as defined in
subsection 467.1(1) of the Criminal Code,



(b) if
the subject matter of the offence is cannabis (marihuana), is guilty of
an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term of not more than 14 years, and to a minimum punishment of


(i)
imprisonment for a term of six months if the number of plants produced
is less than 201 and the production is for the purpose of trafficking,


(ii)
imprisonment for a term of nine months if the number of plants produced
is less than 201, the production is for the purpose of trafficking and
any of the factors set out in subsection (3) apply,

What a moronic law. If Harper is serious about this, I will switch parties. Why can't they ban a drug that makes you more prone to violence, like alcohol?

It is so sad to see a right wing nut in power, who has no idea of what is right and wrong!
There is nothing wrong with marijuana. I am planning to get a Doctor's certificate , or at least I am going to ask for one, to ease my continual pain!
I will make copies! I will post a seperate thread after I find a damn Doctor that will see me, as it appears that my current neuro-surgeon is either out of town, or cannot read my fax request for a phone call, or his secretary hasn't shown him my 2 fax requests in the last 2 weeks!

As a cop I agree the ban on marijuana should be lifted for personal use . The sale of it has to brought to terms with the public and goverment .

I'd go one step farther and say that the government has no business in our medicine cabinets period.

Prohabition only enables some to grow very rich on the backs of others. It prohibits nothing really, possibly with the exception of rational thought.

Did anyone notice in Tick's post that maihuana is spelled like that? I was criticized for putting that h where a j should be, and now I am really confused!
Is there a dog? How is the correct spelling?
How about DeanK's spelling of thier, when we learn i before e except after c.
