Winnipeg police investigating woman's stabbing end up shooting man

WINNIPEG — Police in Winnipeg have shot a man who they say was threatening officers investigating a stabbing.

Police say they were called out about 7 a.m. and found a woman with significant stab wounds. She was sent to hospital.

Police say officers were still on the scene when a man showed up and started threatening them.

He was shot and also taken to hospital.

No further details are available.

I heard that the police couldn't wait for the lasso, that was being dispatched to them!
If this started at 7 A.M., why were there 8 police cars still blocking off the roads at 2 P.M. when I drove by?
7 hours 8 police cars, all running with policemen inside- What is the matter with this picture?
Is this the reason the Northend is being ignored?
Who can explain this expenditure? Were they waiting for the snow to melt?

It has been almost 24 hours since this happened. I want to know where the community outrage is? Why has there been no press conference demanding an inquiry? Perhaps Nahanni and the SCO are on winter hiatus. In Florida?

They're just waiting to determine the ancestry of the guy that was shot before they comment.

Referring to another thread, 2 cops and a car were taken out of service on Wednesday evening from District 3, while one of them attended a meeting to push his personal agenda. This was not a public meeting which required police to attend in a professional capacity, but a meeting which the individual cop chose to attend and took his partner with him. But, since there is no crime in the North End, I guess they could spare these guys.

Can you tell us more about his personal agenda or, what meeting he was attending?

Can it be perhaps that they booked off time (supper break)?

Wish I had a 2 hour supper break and they let me take the car with me.
