Earth Day Activites
Dipnetting: 12 - 3 pm
What kinds of critters are lurking below the boardwalks? Get out your
net, scoop them up and FortWhyte Alive Interpreters will help you
identify your catch.
Guided Bison Walks: 1, 1:30, 2, 2:30 pm
Join volunteer interpreters for a guided visit through the Pioneer Sod
House, the Tipi Encampment, and the Bison Viewing Mound. Tours take
approximately 45 minutes.
Sod House Pioneers: 12 - 4 pm
Join our pioneers at the Sod House and step back in time to the era of the first European settlers of the prairies.
Voyageur Canoe Experience: 12:30 - 3:30 pm
Become a voyageur in a 15 passenger canoe as you paddle back to the days of fur trading and adventure. (weather permitting)
Bannock Sampler: 12:30 - 3:30 pm
Bake your own bannock over an open flame while you wait for your turn on
the voyageur canoe. (weather permitting & while supplies last)
Family Orienteering Challenge, sponsored by Manitoba Public Insurance:
12 - 4 pm - A great way to involve the whole family in a fun and challenging adventure.
Hula Hooping: 1 - 1:30 pm & 2 - 2:30 pm
Step into a plastic hoop, lift it to your waist and move your hips in
circles. If this isn’t fun, we don’t know what is! Catherine Moore will
show you how to elaborate on this fun fitness activity.
