I would think that Boob Rae is quite happy.

Hard to tell the players without a script eh? Ideologies now take second place to getting elected and re-elected.

I predict many a blunder by the hot-headed Mulcair. Should be loads of fun...

Hot headed, you say. Really don't know anything about him, but if thats true, should be a real hoot when him and Pat Martin get together.

Its gonna be interesting. His first act was to rail on the cons for not doing enough about the deficit. Any bets on him freaking the frick out at the cuts when he sees the new budget?

That's what'll make it so much fun...

I think the Conservatives are doing just fine about cuts to the deficit! remember this deficit is the Liberal and NDP deficit! The Conservatives were bringing in a balanced budget when the 3 opposition parties told the C's that they woud defeat it!

Funny how so many people in the other parties tend to forget that.

That's because that is convenient!

He was my last choice on the preferential ballot. Watch the NDP move centre and extinguish what's left of the Liberals ASAP.

I think the NDP polarize people strongly. I would be surprised if they manage to maintain or build upon their current level of popularity.

I find it funny that the NDP are making a big stink about a bill allowing Canadians to fly the Canadian Flag with Impunity.

Maybe the new NDP leader is a Separatist in Liberal turned NDP clothing.

What does this mean?

QMI Agency wrote:OTTAWA - One of the first acts of the NDP under newly elected leader Thomas Mulcair was to vote against a bill encouraging Canadians to "proudly display the National Flag of Canada."

The Conservatives and Liberals voted in favour of Bill C-288, the National Flag of Canada Act, sponsored by Tory MP John Carmichael and Heritage Minister James Moore. A previous version, introduced last year, included fines and up to two years in jail for condo boards or housing authorities that try to prevent Canadians from flying the flag.

The new version contains no such penalties.

The NDP faced some criticism for not displaying enough Canadian flags during last weekend's leadership convention. An NDP spokesman couldn't immediately explain the party's position.

NDP votes against flag freedom bill

that's what it means, and what it shows me is that the NDP are Anti-CANADIAN !

That's curious as hell that is. Shows just how out of touch that party is.

Thomas Mulcair may insist that his political universe doesn't revolve
around Quebec, but it was hard to tell from his response to Thursday's
federal budget.

Responses, plural, to be more accurate......

You were correct sir. No doubt there would have been whining from the Dippers no matter what was in the budget.

At the very least Mulclair isn't the union radical like Nash or Topp.

The support in Quebec would have disappeared in a heartbeat if anyone other than Mulclair didn't become leader. He says he'll fight the Cons tooth and nail.......... good luck..... not enough seats to make the proverbial blip on the radar.

Quebec support is going to disappear anyway so they should have went with someone who may have gained more votes outside quebec but thats their downfall, not mine.
