"Drummond has already mused that the government could save millions of
dollars by delisting some procedures — such as unnecessary caesarean
sections and hysterectomies
— which raised the ire of public health
advocates and women's groups."

so... women just run around willy nilly getting caesareans and hysterectomies for fun now?

Let your rabbi handle that one.

Not sure why Gentiles like playing pretend Jew with their sons.

It's not just that.

Cesarean sections have increase dramatically over the past decades. Doctors are lazy and impatient and often cesarean sections are done to free up time and delivery rooms.

However the costs go up dramatically due to the surgery and the post operative care required.

Nearly 1 in 3 children is born via cesarean section these days.

but.. thats the doctors pushing it.. not the women asking for it.. so if a doctor tells you to have something... (not you asking for it) ... wouldn't it mean its not elective??

My daughter was born by emergency c-section and my sons were planned, if thats what you want to call it. The hospital did not want my wife going into spontaneous labour at 3:00 am on a Sunday morning and them trying to gather the team together to handle triplets and free up 3 spaces in the NICU. From that perspective, I can see that there would be more "planned" c-sections, but only due to other considerations, not just to accomodate scheduling.

My twins were delivered by c-section, it wasn't planned. They waited 31 hours before finally offering me that choice.

$16 Billion must be their last years deficit, because the figure just quoted was $338 billion.

At some point Canadians are going to realize that this Socialist paradise we've built is unsustainable. The feds honestly fricked up when they lowered the GST, plus continued to hand out GST Rebates.

The governments need to strike a balance, unfortunately that is hard to do with the way people vote in this country. Promise increased spending is an easy way to get elected.
