I clicked on something on my fb newsfeed and now I have the timeline profile. I don't want that and would like to know if anyone knows how to change it back?

alas I do not. I cant stand looking at other people's profiles that are switched to that, so I dont think I would continue using FB if mine was that way.

Try switching your language to English (UK). It's helped me stave off the timeline crap.

I have not yet been subjected to that change. I expect it'll get me sooner than later. I don't like a lot of the changes fb has introduced in the past few moths.

I don't understand why fb feels the need to constantly change things. It is so annoying.

SMW, I will change my setting to UK and see if that works! Thanks

Me neither. But it's a moot point, as I plan to get rid of my Facebook account once my wedding is over.

That happened to me 40 years ago, and my marriage partner has been pretty angry at me since then!

most of the changes facebook is making is to compete with their new competition.

google has started a new social-networking concept which runs smoother and has more options...and facebook is trying to keep up.

I find FB convenient for keep up with events that my musician friends put on, etc., but at the same time, I find myself increasingly loathing it.

So much spam-type posting from certain friends who are interesting in small doses but can't control their addiction to oversell their views online.

I can recall not too long ago when it was part of FB culture to post the most trivial status updates. For the most part, people have realized that most of us do not care if you are having a cup of tea or just returned from walking the dog.

I'm quite annoyed by how they are forcing this whole timeline bs on people. They can do this because they believe they are too big to fail.

Timeline's rolling in across the board soon. I prefer this version of fb as I find it easier to relocate past posts, particularly articles, etc. that people or I have shared. There's a narrative to fb that was missing in the past.

It's easy to customize how much of a person's updates you see. You can even totally unsuscribe from them. I try to keep my list under 150 to keep it manageable. Sometimes I hate how often I let myself check fb, but that's my own fault. I find it's become synonymous with emailing, and it can't seem to be beat for keeping in touch with people who are away.

You know, you're the first person I've heard that likes the Timeline feature. Not my cup of tea, but if you get use out of it, more power to you! Smile

Most of my friends like it for similar reasons. Different circles, perhaps? People have been having fun with the design with creative cover and profile photo combinations, adding travel information and photos, pictures as children and awkward family photos. Kind of fun.

I also find it easier to manage who sees my posts. I blog Winnipeg events and restaurant reviews and I'm glad not to be annoying my non-Winnipeg friends with those posts. I also limit my personal status updates to close friends, so as not to annoy people like Triniman. Wink

Totally susceptible to stalkers and identity theft, but getting off fb now would be too little too late.

The main news feed page is the same, but people's individual profiles look different.
