How stupid are Manitoba voters? Quite, it seems. Look what they fell for.

How Hugh McFadyen saved the Selinger NDP from sure defeat.

One of the chief architects of the crushing defeat handed to the PC Party is the NDP's campaign director Michael Balagus. He was in Vancouver last month taking another victory lap at the expense of the hapless, helpless and hopeless Conservatives.

Balagus got to tell the story of how the NDP used their greatest asset---Conservative Party leader Hugh McFadyen---to turn almost sure defeat into their fourth victory in a row.

McFadyen screwed up by not hammering on the NDP for things like Crocus, Manitoba Hydro, and racking up deficits.

Then their campaign was hardly distinguishable from an NDP platform.

And where was their retort to the "they're going to privatize Hydro" shtick?

mcfadyen has been invisible for more than four years. Anyone following Manitoba politics has been saying this for years.

He did raise those topics prior to and during the election. He didn't fight back enough.

Yep. But if you asked any of the hundreds of people on the campaign, they would disagree.

I'd like to see every single person on their Board resign to take responsibility for the dreadful campaign. If they don't do it, I'm not voting for them.

This past election will forever be remembered as one being run by idiots....and rest assured, their names are well known and they won't be asked for their input again.

I would LIKE to believe you jtf however I believe the PCs are delusional and there is a belief in their camp that they should keep the status quo. In hindsight that is easy to believe based on the results of their campaign four years ago (disaster with invisible mcfadyen) followed by the results of this past campaign (disaster with invisible mcfadyen).
