Predictions 2012

There will be yet another civic by-election as someone retires.

The jets will take the cup
The fish will win their league trophy
The bombers will take the cup

One of my kids will do something newsworthy.

I will lose a body part to accident or disease.

I will @#$%^&* retire.

The Jets will lose in the first round of the playoffs.

The Bombers will go on a winning streak in the new stadium.

Someone really big will play a concert in the new stadium, such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen.

Heather Stefanson will emerge as the new leader of the Manitoba Cons.

Greg Selinger will announce a bailout plan for the rights museum in which they will match dollars raised privately, up to a total contribution of $25 million. A year later, the Province will simply chip in $15 million to cover the costs to complete the structure and the exhibits since the dollar matching campaign would have been deemed a failure.

Obama will face Newt Gingrich as the Republican challenger for President but will get re-elected with a much smaller victory.

Iran will face a military conflict against the US in November, after the US election but this will not lead to a protracted war. The US will lead a coalition to control the flow of shipping in the Persian Gulf, thus ensuring the flow of petroleum from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar and the UAE. Once they have a firm grip, the US and Israel will attack Iran's nuclear facilities with both conventional bombs and tactical nukes, in 2013. Canada will be asked to be part of an Iranian no-fly zone over the Persian Gulf along with several other NATA countries.

North Korea's military will continue to share power with the new dictator leader but he will become more of a figurehead than anything else.

China's economy will begin to recede, causing a chain reaction when they sell off huge quantities of US debt, thus further stallling any recovery in the US.

RIM stock will continue to plummet. They go out of business in 2013-14.

The glut of Daily Deal (think Groupon) companies will decline while social media group buying firms will flourish.

Syria's dictator leader will lose power. Many people will be killed. Iran will fight a proxy war with the West to control Syria, thus hastening an attack on Iran nuclear facilities in 2013.

Apple stock will decline significantly in 2012.

I quit reading after the first one.. it was so wrong I dont kow how anything else you say could even be close to right

Predictions for 2012

Conflict in the middle east will escalate with Iran becoming the new bad dog in the area. Israel will continue to try to look the part of broker of peace, but continue it's aggressive stance in the Gaza. Syria will collapse into all out Civil War, and the US will send troops into the region at the behest of the Arab League.

The bombers will shake off the loss at the Grey cup with a near perfect record, and winning the 100th Grey Cup.

The Jets will make the second round of the playoff's but get tossed in game 5.

North Korea will continue to harass the south, however the south will start to hit back and become more vindictive as the north becomes more unstable. Kim Jong Un will be ousted by a military coup.

Fidel Castro will pass away and the Cuban revolution will occur. Democracy to the island nation.

London Olympics will be fairly well received however, protests and demonstrations will mar an otherwise good olympics. Canada will place in the top 10 for medals. Winning a record number of Gold medals.

The Higgs Boson will be discovered in the LHC, however the discovery leads to other questions about physics.

Queen Elizabeth will step down allowing her Grandson to take the throne, she stays in Windsor Castle with her Corgis. King William and Kate will have a son.

Flooding in Manitoba will be minimal due to the lack of winter snow and near drought like conditions in the spring. Summer will be probably the warmest on record.

My prediction?

An Indian chief will call a press conference and claim:
1) they don't have enough money and it is someone else's fault
B) too many of their people are being murdered and it is someone else's fault
iii) their reserve is in worse condition than 3rd world countries and it is someone else's fault
4) their people are chronically (unemployed, unhealthy, uneducated, incarcerated) and it is someone else's fault

That's their #1 problem.

(Now that's a tough one...).

I predict that I will be posting in this forum a lot in 2012.

I also predict, that the source of Winnipeg's drinking water runs dry. Bands of armed Winnipeggers travel to shoal lake to take matters into their own hands. Hundreds will die before the Army is called in to assist.

I also predict that a nutbar cultist predicts the end of the earth this year and all of his/her followers commit mass suicide.

Oil and prices in general will soar

The Greenback will be worthless

The USA bankrupt (along with a dozen other countries)

Wars will begin

Ron Paul leads the Repuplican leadership race but will be subverted ala Bush/Gore Florida style for favoured establishment guy Newt

Revolutions in many countries as govt's face uprising populations

The CanHumRightsMesseum will seek another $50m from taxpayers or threaten to mothball.
