Great Violent Insurgency

Native leaders are increasingly impatient and angry about the living
conditions of their people, but the possibility of a violent insurgency
has always seemed as remote as First Nations communities themselves.
Mr. Bland is not alone. Earlier this week, Justice Murray Sinclair,
chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, warned of "great
violence" if Canadians do not fully accept aboriginal beliefs, customs
and culture. Phil Fontaine, a former national chief, has said frustration and
anger among his people "is building and building." Other chiefs have
also warned of the possibility of a violent uprising that would be led
by young natives.

What the hell? If I start speaking of starting a great violence against society I'm guessing the police would be at my door. But for Phil Fontaine to kindle the embers of this "violent uprising" is ok?

So if they dont get new housing out in Attawapiskat we're basically going to be robbed by the threat of violence?

Maybe it IS time for a battle.

How about in Canada we are ALL EQUAL? Isn't equality the way to peace? Either that or we simply hand over the country to the First Nations, taxes, Federal Parliment, the the Provincial Govenments and let them run it. How does Phil Fontain and Shawn Atleo think they'll do or will they simply serve themselves??

We need equality in this country is what we need.

Violence is not the answer.

Accountability and responsibility are steps in the right direction. Start by phasing out reserves that are untenable. Who in their right mind wants to grow up on and stay living on, a remote reserve? Phase them out. Spend the saved money on training for those who are motivated.

And shoot anyone who wants to play terrorist.

So many problems with the aboriginals, and since that group is the fastest growing group in Canada , the problem is getting bigger!

It blows my mind that "they" seem to be completely useless in doing anything for themselves.

Waiting for 2 years for someone to come in and clean up some crappy sewer back-up, and another picture of some burnt ceiling insulation.

Who lives with absolutely no brains? No common sense? No idea on picking up some scraper and amonia to clean up the mess.

I've predicted this all along. The native wills riot. But will our gov't have the balls to put these people in their place should they resort to such antics.

I say bring it on. The Canadian military would slaughter the uprising. What a shame that would be.
