I'm experiencing this feeling that although i have lived in Charleswood for 22 years, I had only seen maybe 10% of it.
The last 10 days, I've knocked on over 6000 doors and as i drive through areas I've covered, the thought came to me, If someone truly wanted to replace Bill Clement, then they'd have to walk the whole of Charleswood knock on every door. Only by paying your dues can you make a statement like that.
I've seen slums, semi slums, very rich, somewhat rich, middle class, poor, somewhat poor. And throughout all of that, I am convinced much more can be done.
And what is amazing to me is how progressive the area has been, We have a ton of apartments, lowrise, condo's townhouses , all tucked in secluded areas. Take Vialoux, it nearly killed me with close to 300 rental units in that area alone coupled with some monstrous landholdings by the river.
I'm enjoying myself immensely and i could do this 24 hr round the clock. Feet are blistered but watching people recognize you and feeling good you knocked on their door is worth it. ( of course , there is indifference with some sharp words exchanged when someone says they don't vote). And ethnics, these guys embrace this stuff, they love it, especially people from India. They go over your material point by point by point and are really honored you are there and extend so much respect back to you. It floors me.
