Restaurant Survey

you dont get to pick what restraunt though.. You fill out the survey and get the $25 gift certificate emailed to you and they randomly decide which restraunt. Fude, Amici... etc.

Or...skip the survey and just get your free restaurant thing.

Apparently, you find out after the (really crappy) survey...that you actually get the Gift Cert for SUBSCRIBING to something.

must all be for fude then... odd... the adver in the magazine said it would be for anyone one of the restraunts... although... that might only be if you fill out the survey and mail it in.

Kind of makes me wonder now if they have gone downhill......good restaurants eschew this sort of gimmick but then again? Who knows how they have this structured.

It was from the Liquor store magazine, so chances are this is at least in part subsidized by tax dollars to get people more interested in local restraunts.-

I have not read my copy yet.....so will this new magazine, taxpayer subsidized, effect Ciao's bottom line as they are competing for the same advertising dollars?

is it a new magazine? No idea, the liquor frequently has these little manitoba oriented food and drink magazines, I dont know if this is a new one or not.

Fude has not gone downhill they have been experiencing a slump, as of late, due to the economy ( They were featured on the news a while back). That is why they have been advertising and offering free appetizers and such. The food is really good and the service was awesome. I highly recommend that those who have not been there go and give it a try.

As far as I have noticed, all the GCs have been for fude (amongst my friends anyway). The new magazine is really good! Lots of features about local restaurants, less of a focus on recipes.

I noticed that too.....the last mag the LC put out had more focus on recipes, chef interviews and other neat tidbits like kitchen gear and such....this one seems to be all one big advertorial.

They probably had to cut out the chef interviews what with the trouble they cause!!!
